In addition to our deep commitment to individual artists at all stages of their careers, we endeavor to create rich, meaningful experiences for our audiences by engaging them in ways that are intimate and thought-provoking. With our audience, we seek to become a place for dance that is vital to the fabric of social and cultural life in New York, America and beyond.

The Requisite Movers is excited to offer our Wellspring Artistic Dialogue and Critical Feedback intensives November 1, 2014. These intensive sessions or workshops focus on the art of making quality dances in a laid back and productive setting.  The program provides opportunities for Black female choreographers or women choreographers of African descent to receive critical feedback on their artistic work.  The dance work supported by TRM is typically grounded in diasporan physicalities, social issues, theatre, and/or literature.  Choreographers whose dances are workshopped during the Wellspring Intensives will be a part of The Requisite Movers’ 2015 performances.

We would like to thank all of our Indiegogo supporters for their generous contributions to our programming efforts.  Without you this would not have been possible and your perks are in process!

If you are interested in submitting an application to participate in these sessions or have questions, please email [email protected].  The deadline for application is September 22, 2014.

Please feel free to share the application with anyone you feel is interested.
