Cardona and Lieber will present the world premier of TIMES FOUR / David Gordon: 1975/202. Originally created for Gordon and Setterfield and not performed in its entirety since the 1970s, Times Four will be performed in the same SoHo loft space where it was first performed 50 years ago. “The year before he died, David talked to me about doing “Times Four”, last performed in the 70’s and not seen in its entirety since. Part of the material is recorded on video of a rehearsal; other parts exist only in Valda’s handwritten notes, and much of the material has no record at all. David and I had gotten as far as me beginning to learn the material from a video and him asking me who I’d like to perform it with. My answer: Molly Lieber. Now, three years later, Molly and I are in the studio preserving and building on the 1975 fragments, imagining a “Times Four” for 2025.” — Wally Cardona. Find out more here
