IABD will distribute a total of $625,000.
Grant Amount: $25,000 per recipient.
Grant Type: Unrestricted and non-matching
Who Should Apply:
We strongly encourage applications from:
First-time applicants.
Applicants from underrepresented geographic regions.
Applicants from underrepresented dance forms
Eligibility Criteria:
Current Membership: Applicants must be current members of The International Association of Blacks in Dance at the time of submission.
Residency: Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or hold permanent resident status in the United States due to the pilot nature of the program.
Program Participation: Grantees must agree to participate in all program components, including assessments, cohort gatherings, and community sharing(s). Additionally, participants consent to participating in the Wallace Foundation research study.
Commitment to transparency: While reporting will be minimal, IABD will conduct evaluation(s) to measure programmatic effectiveness. Key information will be gathered in the following ways:

Operating History: The applicant must have at least 2 years of operating experience and/or demonstrate 2 years of creative practice.
Selection Process:
The application will be reviewed by a committee of IABD members and stakeholders.
Successful applicants will be able to articulate their alignment with program values & demonstrate a deep commitment to their creative practice, community, and IABD
