Dear Anticipated IABD Conference Delegate:

On behalf of the Board of Directors for the International Association of  Blacks in Dance (IABD), we are writing to inform you about a change to  the 2014 Conference location. The 26th Annual Conference will not take place
in Las Vegas, NV, however it will still occur in January 2014 hosted by Dallas Black Dance Theatre, January 16 - 19, 2014.

The Board acknowledges and appreciates the hard work and efforts of Bernard H. Gaddis, Founding Artistic Director of Las Vegas Contemporary Dance  Theater and his staff in planning for the 26th Annual Conference. We are hopeful that the conference will return to Las Vegas, at a later date.

We apologize for any inconveniences this change in location and date may  have caused you and encourage your support and participation in this  outstanding event which has just celebrated 25 years. The conference  platform will continue to include performance opportunities for our  members, dance master classes,
panels, workshops, seminars, networking  opportunities, and much more.

In the spirit of growth and development, the Board of Directors will be  meeting to review the suggestions presented by the IABD membership  during the recent Town Hall meeting at the 25th Anniversary  Conference in Washington, DC. Rest assured, the Board is committed to  developing a strategic plan to include new goals and direction for the  next 25 years seeking new collaborative efforts and ensuring greater  visibility to the organization, its' conference, the members' interests  and their issues.

IABD's mission "to preserve and promote dance by people of African ancestry or origin, and assist  and increase
opportunities for artists in networking, funding,  performance, education, audience development, philosophical dialogue,  touring and advocacy" is of great importance to the Board, and we  believe that the planning and implementation of all conference events  should continue to serve our mission as in prior years.

All the best,
The Board of Directors - International Association of Blacks in Dance
