Vicky Shick 92nd Street Y March 6-8 Shick’s Pathétique, Miniatures in Detail “…offers a very deliberate weaving together of sound, costume and choreography...[and building] on a series of solos and duets maintaining her devotion to detail and gently mysterious behavior…” notes the release. Shick presents this evening as part of the 92nd Street Y’s Harkness Dance Festival, and curator Doug Varone’s “Stripped/Dressed” format where each choreographer spends the first half of the program ("Stripped") talking about the work. After intermission they show the work fully "Dressed." In the “Stripped” portion of Pathétique, Miniatures in Details however, Shick is planning to present what she describes as “a playful exaggeration of the ‘Dressed’ portion which will serve in some way as a prologue, revealing things that may later be recognized, while offering something different and new with an added performer, newly choreographed sections, added costumes, and different sound,” according to the release.
