FROM THE FOLKS AT URBAN BUSH WOMEN:

Urban Bush Women (UBW), the award-winning dance company founded by Doris Duke Artist, Guggenheim Fellow and Dance/USA Honoree Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, is delighted to announce the appointment of Renee Taylor-Foles to the position of Organizational Advancement Partner. Taylor-Foles joined Zollar, the Founder and Chief Visioning Partner and Jonathan D. Secor, Producing Partner, as the third member of the UBW senior leadership team on July 18, 2016. In her new role, Taylor-Foles will develop UBW's fundraising and individual donor strategies as well as organizational branding/messaging strategies that communicate and advance the vision and mission of UBW.

“We are tremendously excited to welcome Renee into the brand-new position of Organizational Advancement Partner!” said Tammy Bormann, board chair of UBW. “The UBW board made an intentional decision to invest in the work of fund development and organizational advancement by adding an experienced professional to our senior management team. We are thrilled that Renee will bring her significant experience, professional creativity and delightful personality to the Bush family!”

Taylor-Foles is a fundraising professional with over 16 years of higher education and medical advancement experience. As she prepares to begin her new role, Taylor- Foles states, “It has long been my goal to use my talents to build a solid advancement strategy for a dance company. To accomplish this goal for Urban Bush Women—a dance company that centers the woman’s perspective and is profoundly committed to community collaboration—is more than a goal. It is a dream come true.”

Before joining UBW, Taylor-Foles was the Director of Corporate, Foundation and Community Support at High Point University. Her work experience includes development leadership positions at Salem Academy and College, Wake Forest Baptist Health and Visiting Nurse Service of New York. Taylor-Foles received her undergraduate degree in biology from the College of William and Mary and her graduate degree in nonprofit organizations from High Point University. An active volunteer, Taylor-Foles was a co-founder of the young women's giving circle, The Fondue Fund, a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters for ten years and a member of the Women's Fund of Winston-Salem board of directors.

Zollar enthusiastically acknowledges the importance of this organizational decision. “As we go into our 32nd year Urban Bush Women is pleased that the current work and legacy will be supported, nurtured and strengthened through Renee’s experience and the generosity of her spirit. The forging of the partnership between Jonathan, Renee and myself will allow the company to soar to new heights.”
