British-Rwandan singer, actress, dancer and choreographer Munyaneza together with five Black, African and Afro-descendant artists brings Mailles, shares "...intimate journeys ... from Bristol to Seville and Port-au-Prince to Marseille, creating a symphony of voices. Each of these voices and bodies tells a unique story of commitment and strength," according to the release. Begun in 2014 by Munyaneza, Mailles is performed by Ife Day, Yinka Esi Graves, Asmaa Jama and Nido Uwera. Mailles is presented with The Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels Festival. Four DTH alums—Dionne Figgins, Director, Eliot Feld’s Ballet Tech; Alicia Graf Mack, Director, Juilliard School Dance Division; Tai Jimenez, Director, Dance Theatre of Harlem School; and Melanie Person, Co-Director, The Ailey School, and Director, Ailey/Fordham BFA—will coach DTH company dancers and participate in discussions moderated by Garland that explore how their time at DTH resonates in their work.
