​​Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company is looking for male-identifying, highly skilled dancers with experience in acting and singing. Auditions are by appointment only. Applications are due no later than Friday, July 11, 2025, at 10:00am EST. 






Start date is August 18, 2025. New York Live Arts offers Company members an annual wage starting at $45,000 plus health benefits over 52 weeks with approximately 35 scheduled working weeks annually. Position requires a minimum two-year commitment, through June 2027.

Danse Theatre Surreality Auditions for Shadowboxing in Blue ~July 17

​Danse Theatre Surreality announced today that they will audition for Actors, Dancers, Boxers, Musicians, and Martial Artists to join their team for performances of Shadowboxing in Blue in October and beyond. Weekly rehearsals will begin mid-July. Click here to find the audition form, which must be filled out in advance of the audition.

Shadowboxing in Blue follows an individual's fight to survive depression, told through dance, boxing, and live music. This project includes boxing therapy workshops for the community as part of all performances. Danse Theatre Surreality’s work focuses on dynamic physical work, being able to convey emotion and storytelling, and cross-disciplinary performance.

The theatre is looking specifically to hire BIPOC, size inclusive/range of body types, and a variety of age groups at a rate of $20/hr for all performers.

Ballet Hispánico is hosting its annual open company auditions for the 2025-2026 Season. As part of the Company, dancers perform on New York City's greatest stages, tour nationwide and internationally, and are an integral part of community engagement programs. Applicants must have a strong command of current concert dance genres, ballet, and contemporary styles. Selected dancers will be offered 26 weeks of work for the Company’s 2025-2026 Season and will be required to become members of the American Guild of Musical Artists AFL-CIO.

Compensation: Ballet Hispánico salaries begin at $738.59 /week and are commensurate with AGMA union contracts. Additional salary and benefits available upon employment.

Required Experience: At least 3 years of professional dance experience with a professional dance organization. Applicants must have strong classical technique and be able to perform a variety of repertoire including, classical, contemporary, and neo-classical.

*Pointe Shoes, heels, and shoes required for audition*

Auditions for the 2025-2026 season are by invitation only.

Fall 2025-Spring 2026, Exhibition, Los Angeles

Studio Rawls is seeking dancers/performers for a series of performances taking place at a major Los Angeles art institution on the following dates:

Jan 17 or Jan 24 (TBC), 2026
Feb 7 or 14 (TBC), 2026
Feb 28, 2026

Applicants must be available for all performance dates.

Rehearsal schedule:

JUNE
June 7—10a-3p @UCLA
June 9—10a-2p @UCLA
June 19 & 20—10a-2p @UCLA
June 23 & 24—10a-2p @UCLA

JULY
July—Asynchronous, remote rehearsals with each performer, 4hr each

AUGUST
Aug 25, 26 & 27—10a-4p @UCLA

SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER (FINAL REHEARSALS & INSTALL)
Sep 8-13—Hours TBD @UCLA
Sep 15-Oct 4—Rehearsals and install–these will be high-demand days. Please highlight in the application form any conflicts you have for these dates.

Priority will be given to applicants who are available for all rehearsal dates. If you have conflicts with any rehearsal dates, please make note of these in the application form.

We invite movement artists with diverse movement backgrounds, from commercial to experimental performance and time-based work to apply to audition. Artists of color are especially encouraged to apply. All rehearsal and performance time is compensated. We unfortunately cannot accept anyone currently enrolled in a degree program.

Camille A. Brown is looking for extremely virtuosic dance artists to perform for engagements with her Company, Camille A. Brown & Dancers.

Female Presenting Dancers: We are in search of dance artists with the ability to perform African diasporic styles, specifically: polyrhythms, black social dances, and have a familiarity with modern dance and contemporary styles/techniques. The dance artist must have an ability to learn, retain choreographic aesthetic, possess the ability to act and do character work while maintaining a physical capacity to dance and perform.

Male Presenting Dancers: We are in search of dance artists who are familiar with various hip hop forms, breaking, popping, locking, improvisation, and have a familiarity with modern dance and contemporary styles/techniques. The dance artist must have an ability to learn, retain choreographic aesthetic, possess the ability to act and do character work while maintaining a physical capacity to dance and perform.

Dates: June 9th-11th: Women's Audition, June 12th-13th: Men’s Audition

Video Submission Deadline: The Camille A. Brown & Dancers Audition is INVITATION ONLY. Applicants should submit a video for review to [email protected] by May 4th, 2025. Video may be of you in studio or performance (must be solo or easily identified), 2-3 minutes of footage. Invited candidates will be notified with audition location and times.

Salary/Wage: Ranges from $25 to $30/hour for rehearsals and meetings; $1000 to $1300 for weekly engagements; $300 for local performances. Payment range is based on experience. Cost of living adjustments may increase fees.

Must be able to work in the U.S.

Rehearsals will begin in-person: Monday, June 16th, 2025 in New York City.

A.I.M AUDITIONS IN APRIL

AUDITION ALERT

​A.I.M is seeking dynamic and virtuosic dancers for future performance and touring seasons to fill a paid full-time position*. Applicants will submit an audition application form and those selected will be invited to an in-person audition Fri, April 18th. Applicants must show an interest in an investigative process that includes an open mind and a willingness to work in a collaborative group environment. A.I.M performs domestically and internationally approximately 25 weeks of a calendar year. Community engagement is a central tenet of A.I.M’s organizational activities, with A.I.M company members leading workshops and technique classes of various levels. 

A.I.M artistic personnel consists of full-time and part-time dancers. Compensation currently ranges from $46k-$66K/year for full-time dancers and $22-$30/hour for part-time dancers; commensurate with experience, based on company tenure, and reviewed annually for cost-of-living and merit-based increases. Dancers receive an annual length of service increase after five-years of employment. Full-time dancers are supported with 52-week salaries, health insurance, and paid vacations/sick days. All A.I.M dancers receive creation royalties in perpetuity, applicable retirement contributions, and bodywork.

*Please note: We are currently seeking a mature, male-presenting artist to begin working with the company in May. Artists of any gender identity are welcome to apply.

Application/Audition Process for Interested Dancers:

Applicants will submit an Audition Application Form that includes headshot, bio, and a movement sample*. Those selected will be invited to an in-person audition Fri, April 18th, in Brooklyn, NY. Applicants should be available for the full audition Fri, April 18th, 10am-6pm, and for potential callbacks Sat, April 19th, 10am-6pm. 

Audition application forms are open now through Fri, March 14th. Those selected will be notified by Fri, March 28th.

*The movement sample video should be no longer than 60 seconds in length, unedited, of yourself with no other dancers pictured.

Additionally, we’d love for you to include a brief verbal introduction stating your name, pronouns, where you’re from and a fun fact about yourself. This can be included in the movement sample, or a separate video if needed, but total length should not exceed 60 seconds.

The movement can be improvisation, your own choreography, or someone else's choreography with their permission. We kindly ask that you refrain from submitting a dance reel, highly edited, or multiple choreographers work. Samples should be material you feel best showcases your artistry as a dancer.

Videos must be uploaded to YouTube/Vimeo. The video may be private but should not have a password. This video will be used for the sole expressed purpose of this application.

​The MOPTOP Universal Professional Program brings together some of the leaders in the street and club dance scene in New York to offer Street and Club Dance Open Class programming and the 3-month / 6-month MOPTOP Universal Professional Program. 

The MOPTOP Universal Professional Program at Peridance Center offers a condensed and comprehensive learning experience in street dance.

The program covers history, terminology, vocabulary, performance, and technique, providing dancers with the tools to authentically navigate their careers while immersing themselves in the street and club dance community. This program is open to dancers of all levels aged 18 and above by audition only. Students learn from leading figures in the New York street and club dance scene, and the program concludes with a performance at Peridance Center's KnJ Theater.

LAST CALL @BAAD!: 2 Spots Open For Queer Movie Movers Dance Compilation

BAAD! is seeking eight (8) choreographers to present 5-7 minutes of dance and body-oriented performance works to music featured in movies–celebrating queer resilience with movie music.

EVENT DETAILS
This event will be presented in-person at BAAD! (2474 Westchester Ave, Bronx 10461) on Saturday, February 22, 2025 in front of a live audience. The dance compilation will also be live streamed online. The compensation is $150 per choreographer. Each choreographer will also receive 5 hours of free rehearsal space (subject to availability) to be used before the performance. A bare bones technical rehearsal will be conducted on a first come, first served basis earlier in the day of the performance.

    I am a performer, historian, consultant and dance writer.
