Please join us on Friday January 15, 2016 from 10:00am-2:00pm in the Bronx for the 6th annual Bronx Artist Now: Showcase & Conversation event and enjoy 12 artist showcases, lunch, and a discussion on artist engagement with three speakers, followed by a facilitated Q&A (flyer below).
This event is produced by Pepatian and is happening in partnership with the lovely BAAD!/ Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance (2474 Westchester Ave; #6 train Westchester).
As some of you already know, this is a unique opportunity to learn the latest about what is happening in the South Bronx from its artists and residents, as well as the latest work of Latino-and Bronx-based artists.
Transportation from the Hilton Hotel (departing at 9:00am) and lunch (with vegan options) is provided. At 2:00pm, we’ll bring attendees to 149thSt/Grand Concourse to catch the 2,4,5 trains. I can also provide you with a car service tel # if that is preferable.
Please see the attached bio and website info on the artists and speakers, summary sheet on the project listing past attendees, and a sampling of recent articles about the Bronx to provide some local context.
Please RSVP prior to January 8, 2016 (so we know how much food to organize) and please also let me know if you will need transportation from Manhattan to the Bronx that morning via trolley: [email protected]
The conversation post-showcase also promises to be very interesting, and we’d love your participation in the Q&A.
Thank you!
Best wishes,
Jane
