boo-koo is Gibney Dance's space grant and community giveback initiative for early- to mid-career dance and performance artists.boo-koo embraces the notion that our community is abundant with talent and ingenuity, and harnesses the power of reciprocity and resource sharing.
The program provides 50 hours of granted space, a $1,000 stipend, and mentorship and administrative support. Participating artists “give back” by designing a project serving the dance or social justice communities.
boo-koo is open to early- to mid-career NYC-based artists who have not previously received a boo-koo residency and are not currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program.
We are implementing a two-tiered application for the first time this year.
Submit an ‘Intent to Apply’ form any time before February 19 at 12:00 pm to be entered into the applicant pool. From that pool, 40 eligible artists will be randomly selected to submit a full application.
