The festival has two distinct programs. WestFest Top Floor at the Martha Graham Theater present visionary artists in a traditional theater setting. All over Westbeth is the site-specific program showing a variety of unconventional and unique approaches to dance and space.
What is the application process?
Apply online at our website:
STEP 1 - Pay the $25 application fee via PayPal. Note that one application fee is required for each application you submit. Choreographers can apply with as many works for Top Floor, and projects for Site Specific as they want.
STEP 2 - Complete the application form in reference to the program you want to apply TopFloor or All over Westbeth. Please include a link to a video sample via online source (such as Youtube or Vimeo). Work Samples must be at least 3 continuous minutes in length and be of the proposed work. Minimal cuts/edits are preferred, and rehearsal video of the proposed work is acceptable.
Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
What are we looking for?
Dance artists with strong artistic vision, high level of artistry and performance quality. Choreographers may apply to either or both programs: Top Floor and All over Westbeth.
Recent Artists to present their work at WESTFEST are: David Parker, Madboots, Claire Porter, Dash Ensemble, Bryn Cohn and more.
Who is the curatorial team?
The curation of WestFest is made by Founder and Artistic Director Carol Nolte, Production Manager Carol Mendes and guest Artistic Advisor Catherine Tharin. Check more about them HERE.
Application deadline is January 15, 2015.
Applicants will be notified of acceptance via email no later than Wednesday, February 10, 2015. Upon confirmation of acceptance, the selected artists allow WestFest to use their image and name at our website and publicity.
