We've refined our criteria, honed our mission, and clarified our priorities to better support the broad spectrum of people and practices within the field of creative placemaking.

Below, we've included more information about the next round for the National Grants Program along with short blurbs for you to share with your network and post on social media.

ArtPlace America (ArtPlace) is currently accepting Letters of Inquiry for the 2015 round of its National Grants Program.  Since 2011, ArtPlace's National Grants Program has contributed $56.8 million to 189 projects in 122 communities across 42 states and the District of Columbia. Grants range from $50,000-500,000. This year ArtPlace intends to support approximately 40 projects with roughly $10 million.

ArtPlace's National Grants Program targets creative placemaking projects in which art and culture help strengthen the social, physical, and economic fabric of communities.  Any individual or organization within the United States or U.S. Territories is eligible to apply. Approximately 50% of this year's funding is reserved for:
  • Communities of all sizes in Alaska, California, and Minnesota
  • Rural communities throughout Arizona, Iowa, the Upper Peninsula in Michigan, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin
  • The cities of Akron, OH; Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville, MA; Charlotte, NC; Detroit, MI; Macon, GA; Miami, FL; Greater Philadelphia, PA; San Jose, CA; and St. Paul, MN
  • Performing arts organizations and practitioners of folk, traditional, and Native American arts
In an effort to support the broad spectrum of creative placemaking practices across the United States, ArtPlace is also particularly interested in projects from states in which it has not yet granted, including Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, Nevada, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Utah, and Wyoming.

Letters of Inquiry are due by November 3rd, 2014 at 3:59pm EST. Due to the high volume of LOIs, ArtPlace cannot provide individualized guidance or feedback to each applicant. Answers to Frequently Asked Questions are available on the ArtPlace website, and technical issues can be directed to [email protected].
