Rehearsals will begin with sessions twice per month during the fall of 2016, and then will become twice weekly after January 1.
This work embraces a variable mesh of improvised and set material. The ideal participant is a mature, articulate mover who improvises well (alone and with others), is open to expanding the range of their dancing in sometimes curious and unconventional ways, is willing and able to investigate a variety of performative qualities, and is comfortable with the ebb and flow of process as an underpinning for creating dances—all of which are key to how we’re working and what we’re working on. [Realistically this means that someone should probably have at least several years of professional experience beyond college/university.]
There is no rehearsal pay, but dancers will receive a significant performance fee.
We will be holding a dancing session for an invited group of people during our rehearsal on Saturday September 24 from 12-3pm. This will be an opportunity to become familiar with some of the building blocks of the work and to dance with us, so that we can hopefully find the right fit.
If interested, please reply to [email protected] by September 22, with your contact information (including phone number) and a one-page resume or background summary (with dates) attached. If your combination of training and experience seems like a possibly intriguing match, the 9/24 rehearsal location will then be sent to you.
You can find out more information about and see video of some previous small group material by going to www.youtinydancer.com.
Note: please do not reply unless you have the experience indicated above, and are willing and able to make the consistent commitment necessary to be part of realizing this work.
Looking forward to hearing from you, and thanks.
