I'd like to offer information on an upcoming exhibition called Drifting in Daylight: Art in Central Park, which opens Friday, May 15th, free and open to the public. Over the course of 6 weekends, 8 projects will be happening simultaneously at various locations in northern Central Park.
Each project is amazing and I'm especially psyched for Marc Bamuthi Joseph's Black Joy in the Hour of Chaos. His project is wonderfully layered with a group participatory piece featuring music, dance and spoken word, as well as dedicated spaces in Central Park to speak about black joy. We are currently seeking Volunteers for this project especially for the first 2 weekends-- May 15-16 and May 22-23. If you are interested please read the volunteer link below. I also encourage you to forward this email to your own contacts and/or share links on social media. If you or someone you know is NOT able to attend the training meeting on May 6th just let us know when you email [email protected].

This is definitely an all-hands-on-deck moment and we need your help to bring on as many wonderful people as possible. If you are not able to volunteer, please do mark your calendars and attend this exhibition. Bring ya' folks and host your own conversation on black joy. Grab a friend and meander through north Central Park where you'll happen upon dreamy performances and artworks. In every case, I am excited at the possibility to see and work with so many of you!
With heartfelt gratitude,
Katrina Reid
