Meredith Monk with whom Blondell worked for many years, posted the following:
"It is with deep sadness that we are sharing news of Blondell Cummings' passing. She left us early on the morning of August 30th. Blondell was an original member of The House in 1968, and graced us with her performances over the years in pieces such as Juice, Vessel, Education of the Girlchild, and The Travelogue Series. Her vibrant spirit and exquisite movement remain indelible in our minds and hearts. A tribute is currently being planned for October."
Blondell will surely be missed by so many who looked to her for guidance, and who knew how much she meant to dance.
