Brooklyn-based artists, artist collectives and non-profit organizations are invited to apply for up to $5,000 to Local Arts Support or Brooklyn Arts Fund to support projects in all disciplines occurring in Brooklyn throughout 2016. The deadline for Local Arts Support (funded by NYSCA) is Thursday, October 1, 2015; Brooklyn Arts Fund (funded by DCA) proposals are due Thursday, September 24, 2015.
BAC’s 2016 funding cycle will also welcome the Creative Coalitions Commission, a new funding opportunity created specifically to support projects by artists living and working in East Brooklyn. Individual artists living and working in the Creative Coalitions service areas of Brownsville, East Bushwick, and East New York are invited to apply for $2,500 to support for socially-engaged community arts projects. Arts projects must be artist-initiated, and enhance public participation in the arts by directly involving the community in the artist’s creative process. The deadline for the Creative Coalitions Commission is Thursday, October 1, 2015.
