This residency program provides rehearsal and performance space to New York City choreographers and dance companies. With lead funding from the New York Community Trust, the CUNY Dance Initiative offers subsidies to participating CUNY colleges to assist with artist fees, rehearsal expenses, and production, marketing, and administrative costs.
Between July and December 2014, 10 CUNY colleges in all five boroughs are hosting a total of 19 residencies. In addition to providing rehearsal space for artists, the residency projects include master classes and open rehearsals specifically for students, plus showings and performances open to the public.We are now accepting application for residencies from January - December 2015 thru the CDI website. Deadline is Oct 2, 2014.
