New Program Network is First Devoted Entirely to Dance, Including Originally Produced Content and Syndicated Programming

NASHVILLE, TN (July 21, 2015) – A new network will be leaping across the screens with the launch of Dance Network (www.dancenetwork.tv), the first ever program network devoted entirely to dance programming, it was announced today by the veteran television and brand executive, Brian Williams, CEO of Dance Network.
The direct-to-consumer subscription based, over-the-top (OTT) digital network is hosting a U.S. preview event on National Dance Day, July 25, 2015 in Nashville, TN.  Dedicated to all forms of movement and dance as entertainment, exercise, sport, and inspiration, Dance Network’s slate features broadcast quality original programming such as “Traveling Dancer,” which showcases local dance styles from around the globe; “To The Stage,” which follows the competitive real life efforts of high school show choirs in the vein of Fox’s hit series “Glee;" a flash mob series, “Steady Mobbin’” and many more. Dance Network will also feature newly acquired film and television content libraries including classics from years past to the international editions of hits from the BBC. Dance Network’s official full network launch is set for October 2015 on Apple iOS and Android mobile phones, Roku and through the web portal.
Williams, who is well-known for successfully and seamlessly integrating Hollywood properties with major U.S. and international advertising firms such as Horizon, Starcom, Lionsgate, Fox and Sony, is no stranger to cultivating innovative branding projects for core businesses (film/TV) that deliver new revenue models, including digital domains.
“We are excited to quench the thirst of dance enthusiasts, a highly-loyal and underserved audience with Dance Network, the first network fully dedicated to bringing the joy of this art form to families and homes nationwide,” says Williams.
Veteran Sony distribution executive, Joe Kissack, who serves as the COO of Dance Network adds, “Just look at the enduring popularity of movie musicals and films like the ‘Step Up’ franchise, ‘Flashdance’ and ‘Strictly Ballroom’ and to the global success of TV shows like ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ and ‘Dancing with the Stars’!  Clearly people love music and love to dance, two universal languages that can offer the added value of playing well across all platforms, including web portals, mobile phones and tablets. We will offer every style of dance, in every genre of production, from Country to Ballet from Hip Hop to Ballroom from feature films to documentaries, from reality to competitions, and instruction to scripted programming.”
According to the founders of Dance Network, Julie Stadler and David Medeiros, “Every style of dance is a celebration of life. Dance Network will use the universal language of movement to take audiences on new and unexpected journeys while also revisiting some of their lifelong favorite shows in a new way.”

The initial preview of Dance Network will be available starting July 25, 2015, with a sampling of both original and acquired programming from around the world. Dance Network will announce its full original programming and network slate leading into its consumer launch set for October 2015.
