International Human Rights Art Festival (IHRAF), New York City's first arts-advocacy festival of its kind, presented by The Institute of Prophetic Activist Art, co-sponsored and housed at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie St, NYC), will take place March 3-5, 2017.
IHRAF has commissioned J CHEN PROJECT's Artistic Director Jessica Chen to curate an evening with human rights-oriented dance.
Chen will present her own work and has selected three other outstanding emerging choreographers to join the program for Saturday and Sunday
performances.
PERFORMANCE TIMES
Friday, March 3 at 7:30pm (Opening Ceremonies with Special Guests)
Saturday, March 4 at 10pm
Sunday, March 5 at 4pm
"Dance can help translate unspoken fears and emotions... the nuances of a leg held up, a body launched into space and a gesture of yearning is immensely powerful.
