I'm excited to announce our newest project, "Dance at the Gym." Think: Professional Dance Intensive meets Community Engagement.
At KEIGWIN + COMPANY, we have a long history of compelling, joyous and poignant community projects. These experiences are the bedrock of our company (and most companies). I have noticed that dancers don't usually join my company with tools for approaching exchanges with non-dancer population. I also see how powerful outreach can be for community members and artists alike.
And so, we are offering a new type of experience.
Dancers: Join us in creating and implementing a community exchange. We will share our tools, and tailor an approach for the incoming group. The experience includes classes from me and KEIGWIN + COMPANY dancers, an open company rehearsal, and a shared studio performance.
NYC Community: Join us for a week of evenings, to create a piece with New York dancers, and perform it in a friendly studio setting.
