Finalists: Courtney Cooke, Thomas Tyger Moore, Clarivel Ruiz, Maleek Washington
More than 30 artists were nominated in the Fall by members of the Dancing While Black network, including community partners and former Fellows. Then six Fellows and four Finalists were selected by a panel consisting of '15-'16 DWB Fellow Sydnie L. Mosley, DWB Fellowship Mentor Eva Yaa Asantewaa and Arthur Aviles, Artistic Director of Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance, where DWB was launched in 2012.
Starting this month, the Fellows meet monthly through June to develop their practices and build community. Fellows receive a modest honorarium, workshops and dinners with master artists, professional development support, and presentation in the DWB 5th Anniversary Festival. This year, Angela's Pulse is proud to partner with BAAD! as the fellowship host site.
