I'm searching for a dance choreographer who can put together a minute-long routine for a guy in a film I'm directing - my first narrative short! Kind of a hip-hop, pop style routine. It can be something they've already put together, he just needs to be coached a bit in the film and they'll be on camera together, so if they have acting experience and / or want to act, that would be awesome! We're filming the dance portion on Saturday night (overnight shoot).
Here are the details:
It's a narrative short (tentatively titled STRIVE) about a father and son set in the music world that poses the question "how far is too far to go to be great." It's written by my boyfriend, a SAG actor, with script finessing by a talented screenwriter. The producer and I have both had films at Sundance and two of the actors are SAG members. We have a talented DP and editor on board, ready to put in the fun and hectic work it will take to finish the film by Sept 23rd! We're aiming to film and edit to submit for the Sundance shorts deadline on the 23rd - I know, very soon! The film will be approximately 10 minutes long (maybe shorter).
Exact shooting times are tentative right now, but here is an approximate breakdown -
Fri, Sept 16 - 8am to 8pm
Sat, Sept 17 - overnight - 8pm to 4am or 6am or so
Sun, Sept 18 - 2pm to 12pm (start time will depend on when we finish filming the night before)

We'll be filming in two locations - one is a studio in Midtown, 48th & 9th Ave (Saturday night and maybe Sunday night) and one is an apartment in either Brooklyn, Harlem/Inwood, or South Bronx - still searching for an apartment.
Meals will be provided. We're working pretty much with no budget - camera gear I and the DP own, sound and lighting equipment we're borrowing from my former grad school - and all crew/actors are jumping on board with with hopes of this being a really fun, collaborative team process with a good film at the end. While we can't pay a day rate this time around, we're planning to use the short to eventually raise funds for a feature, and would hope to bring our crew along with us then. We may also do an Indiegogo or kickstarter sometime soon.
I (and the rest of the crew) know it's a lot to ask, but please know we'd be immensely grateful for your time, help, and expertise on our set!! I'm also keen to recommend good people for lots of paying film opportunities that people contact me for pretty frequently.
