Senatore is best known for her processional performances featuring anywhere from 500 to 20,000 participants who range from brass bands to bike enthusiasts. Her ongoing, nomadic project The School of Narrative Dance has gathered thousands of people in more than seven countries to celebrate the vernacular, amateur, and professionally trained gestures of the participants. Senatore’s performances are always a spectacle; see below for images of her most recent parade in Venice, Italy.
Anyone from dancers, musicians and activists to librarians and jugglers are welcome to participate. Participation is volunteer-based, with rehearsals between November 1st - 12th, to be scheduled based on your availability. To join, or if you have any questions, please contact Deon Soogrim at [email protected] with a few details about yourself and/or your organization.
