We are most keen on hiring someone with writing expertise, and for whom contributing to the teaching of writing in the discipline will be a priority. The successful candidate will be able to teach all levels of modern/postmodern movement technique, and any three of the following: Composition, Cultural Studies (a topics course on some aspect of dance history), Movement Analysis (Laban-based), and Somatics (Body-Mind Centering, Feldenkrais, Ideokinesis, etc. preferred). Preference will be given to candidates who are certified in either movement analysis or somatics. The department also offers a Seminar in Production and Performance courses; these are very welcome additions to the candidate’s teaching expertise.
