Denison University (Granville, OH) Department of Dance seeks a full-time, three-year replacement position in a small but vibrant department that balances Eurocentric and Africanist values, movement practices, and dance studies.
We are most keen on hiring someone with writing expertise, and for whom contributing to the teaching of writing in the discipline will be a priority. The successful candidate will be able to teach all levels of modern/postmodern movement technique, and any three of the following: Composition, Cultural Studies (a topics course on some aspect of dance history), Movement Analysis (Laban-based), and Somatics (Body-Mind Centering, Feldenkrais, Ideokinesis, etc. preferred). Preference will be given to candidates who are certified in either movement analysis or somatics. The department also offers a Seminar in Production and Performance courses; these are very welcome additions to the candidate’s teaching expertise.
