Western Kentucky University, Assistant Professor of Dance
The Department of Theatre & Dance seeks applications for a tenure-eligible position in Dance, at the Assistant Professor rank, starting August 2017. NASD accredited, we offer the only BA in Dance degree in Kentucky along with a Dance Minor. Departmental enrollment nears 200 students, with approximately 50 dance majors and 20 dance minors.
The successful candidate will be able to teach all levels of ballet technique, partnering techniques, and pointe and also have demonstrated ability to teach courses in one or more of the following areas: Jazz Dance Technique, Choreography, Dance History, Dance Anatomy and Kinesiology. Additional responsibilities will include choreography for the WKU Dance Company and supervision/mentorship of student choreography projects. There is also an expectation of scholarly and/or creative work, committee service, advising, recruiting, and other administrative responsibilities.
