As part of “BRIDGING: An International Dialogue on Diversity and Inclusion in the Arts,” and in association with the French Institute Alliance Française’s annual “Crossing the Line 2017 Festival,” Linyekula concludes performances in New York at NYU Skirball and Dancing in the Streets. At NYU Skirball he will offer the U.S. premiere of In Search of Dinozord (“Sur les traces de Dinozord”) “…a poetic, political fairy tale that begins, like all fairytales, with ‘once upon a time…’ as they explore the history of the Congo,” according to the release. In the intimate ground floor performance space, the new Gibney Dance series of “Invocation Proclamation Manifesto” a mixed bill programs featuring short works from choreographers and performance-makers “…wrestling with the urgency of being a body at risk in 45’s America,” according to the release, will include works by Elena Rose Light, Jess Pretty & Miriam Gabriel/Carlo Antonio Villanueva (9/21 – 23); Kenya (Robinson), Alexandra Tatarsky & Eli Tamondong (9/28 – 30); and Angie Pittman, Kristopher K.Q.
