In Letters to Marsha and Viewing Hours (a diptych), having missed a connection with queer ancestor Marsha P. Johnson, brooks builds Letter to Marsha on danced and written love notes.  Also on the program is Viewing Hours, which “…takes the form of a wake, with brooks examining perceptions of death and decay…” according to the release. Stacy Grossfield is the curator of “Images//Landscapes,” part of the ongoing “Reparations365” series.  The Producer is Marýa Wethers. Find out more here

As the 2019–2020 Randjelović/Stryker Resident Commissioned Artist at NYLA, Raja Feather Kelly and his company the feath3r theory will present a work-in-progress showing of his new work, WEDNESDAY where the performers “…search for the true motivations and outcome behind the bank robbery in the 1975 cinematic-drama “Dog Day Afternoon.”  Find out more here

    I am a performer, historian, consultant and dance writer. I am a Empire State College's online program Center for Distance Learning.  I am also a former faculty member at The Ailey School and the Alvin Ailey/Fordham University dance major program, Hunter College, Sarah Lawrence College (Guest), Kean University and The Joffrey Ballet School's Jazz and Contemporary Trainee Program.  I write on dance for The Amsterdam News, Dance Magazine and various publications.  Click below to read more about me at my home page - "About Me."
