As part of the summer presenting series, BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn!, PHILADANCO, under founded/artistic director, Joan Myers Brown, returns for the first time in more than a decade with works by Ray Mercer, three works originally performed for the project,James Brown: Get on the Good Foot, a Celebration in Dance (originally staged at Harlem’s Apollo Theater) by Thang Dao, Ronald K. Czech Center New York collaborates with JACK to present the premiere of a performance duet by New York-based singer/performer Davis and Bartovanec, a Czech dancer & choreographer best known for his work with the Sasha Waltz Dance Company. This transatlantic collaboration commissioned by Czech Center NY is the third in a series of four cross-cultural world premieres, called Prague-New York Effects, and will have performances also in Washington, D.C. and the Czech Republic.
