Danspace Project

Kyle Abraham, choreographer, performer, and artistic director of A.I.M. by Kyle Abraham, curates Danspace Project’s sixteenth Platform.  Titled “Platform 2024: A Delicate Ritual,” this series of performances reflects Abraham’s interest in each performers’ rituals, desires, and artistic exchanges. Featured will be new work by Ryan Gant + Pitts (May 2-4), intergenerational shared evenings of performance with Roussève + paggett (May 23-25), and Fraley + Miller (June 6-8). Find out more here 

"Message in a Bottle"

"Message in a Bottle," initially inspired by Sting’s “Desert Rose” and including “Every Breath You Take,” “Roxanne,” “Fields of Gold,” and 23 more songs, is a dance-theater work coming directly from London’s West End and makes its New York debut.  Find out more here

ALL ARTS’ 2024 “Past, Present, Future Dance Film Festival” will premiere films by Ayodele Casel, Raja Feather Kelly and Katy Pyle. The annual initiative features newly commissioned films in which dance artists partner with filmmakers to explore the past, present and future of their work. Find out more here

Dedicated to cultivating the next generation of ballet dancers, choreographers, and audiences, the Company performs masterworks and original commissions. The Chocolate Factory

Kravas will present overly merry "...a springboard for a new kind of collective research and inquiry; a dance-based, post-happening. It responds to her work to launch the performers and audience more deeply into their own research and inquiry," according to the release.  Find out more here

Gibney Company will offer world premieres and reconstructions including a special collaboration with Twyla Tharp, the Company in two works from the artist’s canon: The Fugue from 1970 and Bach Duet, reconstructed for the first time since its premiere in 1974. Find out more here

    I am a performer, historian, consultant and dance writer. I am a Empire State College's online program Center for Distance Learning.  I am also a former faculty member at The Ailey School and the Alvin Ailey/Fordham University dance major program, Hunter College, Sarah Lawrence College (Guest), Kean University and The Joffrey Ballet School's Jazz and Contemporary Trainee Program.  I write on dance for The Amsterdam News, Dance Magazine and various publications.  Click below to read more about me at my home page - "About Me."
