Castro and her company, a canary torsi, continues her investigative work with performances of CAST, “…part of a trilogy of works that draw from a collection of audio and video recordings generated between 15 accomplished NYC performing artists, concerning the process of casting and the complexities of representation. A computer-generated script is created each night from transcripts of over 100 hours of conversation with the full ensemble about the performance of representation. Four performers negotiate a new score of movement and text in front of the audience each night, not knowing whose words they will have to speak or whose actions they may embody," according to the release.
