Dance/NYC is pleased to join with Buglisi Dance Theatre, its partner The September Concert, and all of its professional colleagues and friends from the NYC dance community on the seventh presentation of the 9/11 Table of Silence Project at Lincoln Center. Since 2011, nearly 1000 dancers have performed in The Table of Silence Project, and over 60,000 households across all 50 states and 121 countries have viewed this free, public performance ritual for peace and healing via live stream. The “Table of Silence Project 9/11” is recognized by Proclamations from Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio for uniting the community through dance.

New Yorker for Dance Jacqulyn Buglisi invites all dance companies and dancers with professional experience to unite with her in this transcendent message of compassion and peace, to touch the hearts of many from the cultural capital of America to the world.

Dance/NYC’s executive director Lane Harwell offers that the work has special meaning today: “Enduring annual tributes, from a Tribute in Light installation seen from all corners of the city to a site-specific performance Table of Silence 9/11 streamed to thousands online, pay homage to lives lost on September 11. They also serve as poetic calls for freedom and peace that gain new meaning with every passing terror attack across the globe and with every new audience they reach.”

The Table of Silence Project represents the common threads of humanity which unite all mankind into a single force with common goals and aspirations regardless of race, culture, or religion. Through this event, we wish to achieve the dual purpose of celebrating and honoring peace and freedom for all people suffering oppression, through listening, a united moment of silence - a call for Peace in our world. - Jacqulyn Buglisi
